Frequently Asked Questions

How should I book with you?

Click the book now button above or book online at Shelburne Physio. You can also call at 519-925-2120

How long should I book for?

For an initial assessment: 60-90 minutes

Follow-up: 45-60 minutes, depending on treatment plan

Where are you located?

Shelburne ON

Do I need intra-oral treatment for this to be effective?

No, I work within the comfort of my patient. If intra-oral work is uncomfortable, external treatment can be just as effective

Do you experience any pain during treatment?

No, it should never be painful. It should only ever feel relevant, effective, and safe. There may be areas of tenderness, but no pain

How many treatments will I need to attend?

This is dependent on each patient; the most important piece is clustering the first treatments together (2 a week is recommended) - generally, after 3 weeks, I reassess, and we decide on how many more treatments may be needed and how spaced out they should be.

How does massage therapy work for TMJD treatment?

By treating the soft tissue and joints of the TMJ and neck. Quite often the muscles of the TMJ are causing dysfunction, by assessing and targeting the specific muscles that may be cause of the dysfunction the condition can typically be resolved or managed.
